Kalyan Banerjee Accuses BJP of Engineering TMC Defections

TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee has accused the BJP of using a calculated strategy to increase its strength in Parliament by engineering defections and staggering Rajya Sabha resignations. He alleged that Koel Mallick's resignation was delayed to give the BJP a political advantage and claimed she is set to join the party after meeting BJP leader Bhupendra Yadav. Banerjee also said the recent wave of TMC MPs and MLAs switching to the BJP has tarnished West Bengal's political culture, alleging that around 60 former TMC MLAs are now functioning as Suvendu Adhikari's "B-team." He added that the people of West Bengal will ultimately judge these political developments.
