West Bengal has officially rolled out the Central Government's PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari inaugurating the scheme from Nabanna. In the first phase, 1,800 families have received rooftop solar installations and direct subsidy benefits. The scheme aims to provide up to 300 units of free electricity per month, promote clean energy adoption, and reduce household power bills through Central Government subsidies transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
