President Droupadi Murmu, in her Independence Day eve address, paid tribute to the lakhs of Indians who lost their lives or were displaced during the Partition. She also recalled the massive challenge of integrating more than 550 princely states into independent India and praised Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for his key role in national integration.
