The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) says the Strait of Hormuz remains open for lawful commercial shipping despite regional tensions. CENTCOM stated that U.S. forces are ensuring freedom of navigation, with more than 800 ships and over 400 million barrels of crude oil safely transiting the waterway in the past two months. The command also noted that over 140 vessels passed through the strategic strait in the last seven days.
