West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced an increase in the primary school meal allocation to ₹10 per child to improve student health, nutrition and well-being. The state is also expanding its partnership with ISKCON to provide fresh, nutritious meals, currently reaching over 2.45 lakh students in Kolkata and extending to Purulia. The initiative will protect existing school cooks’ livelihoods while involving Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in providing boiled eggs twice a week.
