MDL to Build ₹15,000 Crore Shipyard in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has welcomed Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited to the state, with the Navratna defence PSU planning a modern greenfield shipyard at Dugarajapatnam. The project is expected to attract around ₹15,000 crore in investment over five to seven years and create nearly 45,000 direct and indirect jobs. The Dugarajapatnam shipbuilding cluster is expected to support growth across shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering, manufacturing and logistics, strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s maritime ambitions and contributing to India’s goal of becoming one of the world’s top five shipbuilding nations by 2047.
