Calling India one of the world's fastest-growing economies, Luxon said the visit marks a major step in strengthening bilateral ties. He highlighted the New Zealand–India Free Trade Agreement, signed in April, saying it will boost trade, create jobs, increase exports, and unlock new opportunities in India's 1.4-billion-strong market, benefiting New Zealand's economy and communities.
