PM Modi Declares ‘Golden Chapter’ in India-Indonesia Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described India-Indonesia relations as entering a "golden chapter" after holding bilateral talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta. The two leaders announced a series of landmark agreements covering defence, maritime security, healthcare, AI, digital public infrastructure, space, critical minerals, trade, and education, including the establishment of an IIM Bangalore campus in Indonesia and the integration of India's UPI with Indonesia's payment system. Modi also reaffirmed support for a free and open Indo-Pacific, ASEAN centrality, dialogue and diplomacy, and a two-state solution for Palestine, while highlighting shared cultural initiatives such as the Prambanan Temple conservation project and the Tagore-Dewantara Year of Cultural and Educational Diplomacy.
