Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India has launched the second phase of its semiconductor mission, with a target of approximately $13.5 billion, compared with around $8 billion in the first phase. Speaking at SEMICON India 2026 in New Delhi, he said further policy, funding and regulatory reforms are being introduced to strengthen collaboration between international companies, Indian startups, design firms and OCI-owned entities.
